Il fenomeno didattico della multiculturalità è un tema in molti casi discusso, vissuto però sovente in ambito scolastico come problema, non come risorsa. Un’esperienza educativa di trasposizione culturale nella scuola primaria

La nostra ricerca vuole mostrare come lo studio di approcci sviluppati in diversi contesti culturali può essere importante per riflettere sulle nostre pratiche didattiche e per progettare nuove sperimentazioni nelle classi. In particolare abbiamo studiato le rappresentazioni grafiche usate per descrivere e risolvere problemi additivi nella scuola primaria in Russia e Cina. In questo articolo introdurremo l’idea di trasposizione culturale che sarà anche esemplificata attraverso la descrizione e analisi di due percorsi didattici realizzati in una II e in una V primaria italiane.
Metafora ed Analogia in Didattica della Matematica

This paper is a report that concerns two experiments that I proposed in nine secondary school classes (pupils from fourteen to eighteen years old) in order to test some hypotesis concerning the use of metaphor during teaching-learning processes. I begin by analyzing the different significances of the concepts of metaphor and analogy that can be found in literature. Then I try to frame these concepts within the framework of semiotic mediation. I show some excerpts taken from the experimentations, and I try to interpret some of pupil’s utterances (words, gestures) as metaphors which offer to the teacher a possible way (by analogies) to introduce mathematical contents. I poligoni stellati: origini storiche ed implicazioni didattiche

The genesis of mathematical concepts in the evolutionary line of human thought in the long story and the genesis in individual optics possess evident analogies. Starting from this assumption, we describe an activity presented to 15-year-old students; the aim was to consolidate fundamental concepts of Euclidean geometry related to regular polygons. The experimentation has used a didactic approach based on the historical evolution of the formal definition of regular star polygon through the centuries. The activity and the results obtained in terms of internalization of the concepts in the students are showed.
